FCAT scores have arrived today! Please be sure to check your child's planner with a note listing their scores in Mathematics and Reading. We are very proud of our students!

Multiplication Bee Competitors

We have selected 3 students to represent our class in the 3rd Grade "Multiplication Bee" on Thursday, May 28th at 9:00 a.m. Congratulatons to the following students: Harrison, Kassie and Taylor! Best of luck at the competion...we will be there to cheer you on!

End of the Year Party...

Attention Parents/ Guardians,

There are only 18 days left until the last day of school! We would like to plan a special party for the end of the year on Thursday, June 4th. We have started brainstorming about a Hawaiian Luau themed celebration. Some activity ideas include: limbo, water balloon toss, hula dancing, “make your own lei necklace,” and tie-dye t-shirts for students to autograph on the final day of class. It would also be fun to have students bring in food items for a Hawaiian-style lunch such as fruit punch, pineapple and other fruits, cheese, macaroons and perhaps some type of chicken skewer.

We realize this may be costly and will require several helpers! We are looking for suggestions and ideas to make this party successful! We will be holding an open meeting for all parents to bring in suggestions on Thursday, May 14th at 8:00 a.m. We hope to exchange ideas and form a team/committee of parents to take over each aspect of the party.

If you cannot attend, please get with us at your earliest convenience to find out what you can do to help! You can write a note in your child’s planner and we will get in touch with you either via e-mail or by phone.

Reminders of Upcoming Events

It's almost the end of the school year! There are exactly 5 weeks left with the exception of Memorial Day on May 25th. Here are reminders of events taking place for your third grader this month!

• Thursday, May 7: Field Trip to MOSH (9:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.) *Bring a bagged lunch!
• Friday, May 8: Reading Celebration (12:45-2:30) *Parents are welcome to join......... NBE IDOL Show (6:00 p.m.)
• May 11: Last day to check out library books; Final PTA Meeting
• May 12: Flag Raising Ceremony/ NBE Idol Winner's Performance
• May 22: All library books due to the Media Center
• May 27: 3rd Grade "Crab Soccer" competition (Come cheer us on!)
• May 28: 3rd Grade "Multiplication Bee" (9:00 a.m.) Principal's Picks & Punch (last one)
• June 3: End of Year Award Ceremony in Gym (10:45-11:30 for 3rd Grade)
• June 5: Last Day of school for students (Dismissal at 12:00 p.m.) **Final report cards go home!
